Will Pavlovic replace Eriksen to save Manchester United’s midfield?

Pavlovic is an interesting signing for Man Utd.

With Christian Eriksen set to leave at the end of the season, Manchester United are looking for alternatives to bolster their midfield. One name that has been mentioned is Bayern Munich’s young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic, who could be an ideal addition to Ruben Amorim’s Old Trafford system.

Eriksen was a key figure in Manchester United’s squad under Erik ten Hag, but his form has declined and the emergence of young talents such as Kobbie Mainoo has seen him fall out of favour.

Eriksen has failed to maintain the fitness and versatility that the Premier League demands, particularly with Ruben Amorim’s side focusing on fast pressing and winning the ball from midfield. However, Eriksen still possesses excellent ball control and the ability to make decisive passes, which still makes him an attractive target for Europe’s top clubs.
So, finding a midfielder who can replace Eriksen is something that Manchester United need to do right now. Bayern Munich’s young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic is a notable option. The German is considered one of the most promising talents in Europe at the moment and is of particular interest to Manchester United. Pavlovic could bring creativity and depth to United’s midfield, and would fit the possession-based style of play that Ruben Amorim is building.

Pavlovic’s strengths lie in his ability to distribute the ball and control the game, something that Manchester United are lacking. Despite being only 20 years old, Pavlovic has had impressive performances at Bayern Munich and is expected to develop into a top midfielder. He has also played under Thomas Tuchel, where he has started to gain trust and become a regular starter. Although not a standout performer, Pavlovic’s ability to read the game and dictate the tempo of the game are key to United’s midfield improvement.
Eriksen is counting down the days to leaving Old Trafford.
However, to sign Pavlovic, Manchester United will face a big challenge. Bayern Munich will not let a young talent leave easily and Pavlovic’s transfer fee will certainly not be cheap. Although a swap deal (including Marcus Rashford) is possible, United will still have to pay a premium to complete the deal.

With Eriksen’s departure, Manchester United, who are currently 15th in the Premier League, have a great opportunity to change and refresh their midfield. Aleksandar Pavlovic, with his combination of youth and experience at a big club like Bayern Munich, could be the answer United need to rebuild a strong squad and compete in all competitions.
