PSSI decided to fire Shin Tae-yong as the coach of the Indonesian National Team on January 6. Immediately after the dismissal announcement, Patrick Kluivert replaced Shin.
Then, on January 26, 2025, Shin Tae-yong and his assistants decided to leave Indonesia.
Indonesian fans also sent Shin Tae-yong home at that time. Hundreds of people showed up to express their gratitude for Shin’s achievements while coaching the Garuda Team.
However, less than a month after leaving Indonesia, Shin Tae-yong was seen returning to the country. Shin posted this moment on his official Instagram account. He wrote: “Indonesia is amazing.”
In fact, he is increasingly popular with many brands. Luna Maya’s cosmetics products are also interested in collaborating with Shin Tae-yong. His success in coaching Indonesia paved the way for Shin Tae-yong to become an advertising model.
Shin Tae-yong is still signed with many brands in Indonesia. Some commercials with Shin’s participation often appear on screen.
In addition, not long ago, Shin Tae-yong also participated in acting with a supporting role in a comedy horror film called Ghost Soccer: Bola Mati. Shin Tae-yong even had to go through filming in West Java recently to play this role.
However, the specific reason for this return of the Korean coach is still unknown.
Shin Tae-yong is not a strange name to Vietnamese football fans. Since the time of coach Park Hang-seo, fans have seen many verbal battles between these two captains in regional tournaments.
Coach Shin Tae-yong was born on October 11, 1970 in Gyeongbuk, South Korea. He is a former professional football player who played as an attacking midfielder. During his playing days, he was nicknamed “Ground Fox” because of his speed and intelligence. In the K-League, Shin Tae-yong scored 99 goals and 68 assists in 401 matches.
